3. We have been called to join with God in service to those in
need.
We have been called to do missions to others in need. Therefore, missions
to others in need are a primary focus of our human and financial resources.
Our Church and our church members are encouraged to be vital members of the
Skiatook community providing ‘leaven’, guidance, direction, and support in the
improvement of our community even if this means speaking out on controversial
issues.
We believe that in a world filled with great need, we must be excellent
stewards of God’s resources. The ministries must dictate the need for
facilities. Facilities are merely tools which allow us to do ministry, which
should be built adequately, yet economically.
4. We don’t seek others who think just like us; just all who think.
We open our doors and our minds to embrace others who seek to grow in their
knowledge of the loving God that we experience, not because they think or
believe exactly like us, but because they have a desire to know God.
God has given us a mind. We should use it to its fullest capacity. Thus our
goal for Christian Education and Preaching is not to tell you what to
believe, but to encourage all to think and pray about the great theological,
social, and political issues of the day.
